4.Budgets in Databricks

Databricks has introduced a new feature to help you monitor your cloud spending: Budgets. This tool allows account admins to track spending, set up alerts, and manage costs more effectively.

Setting Up Your Budget:

Access Usage: Go to the account console sidebar and click “Usage.”
Add Budget: Click the “Budgets” tab and then “Add budget.”
Define Budget: Name your budget, set a monthly amount, and specify any workspace or tag filters.
Email Alerts: Enter email addresses to receive notifications when spending reaches the budget limit.

Managing Budgets:

Check budget status and details in the account console, including current and remaining spending. Use the menu to update or delete budgets as needed.

Important Notes:

Budgets are for monitoring only and won’t cap spending.
Email notifications may have a 24-hour delay.
The budget doesn’t account for discounts or credits.
